My Prayer Album

Our client Crossroads Communications
approached us to design a Prayer Album for them.
Titled "MyPrayerAlbum" the book is for people to write down prayers and notes along side a photo of the person they are praying for. A great idea we had to match graphics with...I think it turned out great!

Take a look.

Wearing Art!

It's a must to be in a band and have a cool shirt.
If you don't...you're in trouble!
And all the other people that wish they were in a band, also want cool shirts.
The world of company/corporate/boring shirts is over.
Cool shirts are the new thing.

We of course love pushing the boundaries of the norm, and want to express the world of graphic arts on a walking canvas. Here are some of the most recent we have designed.

Printers be aware....Cause we're coming!

Faduchi Group

Once upon a time, there was a company called Faduchi Design.
Then as years past the company got into more stuff.
Like Brand Strategies, Marketing, Websites and More!

So, bringing in more people with these wonderful talents would only throw "Group" into existence!

So, Faduchi "Group" will suffice!

WEBSITE - JP Riemens

Musical artist JP Reimens.
A rugged rock/country artist with a look as rough as his music. Bringing in a bold color (me),
Photos by Chris Stacey... and a beautiful set up by Josh Horvath, I think this site turned out alright!

Print, Print and more Print!

Does anyone use paper anymore?

Good question. (I say to myself) Letterhead, Business cards, Posters, and Club Cards...all of which need paper or they can't survive! I say yes... we need them. You can build a website, you can be in a band, you can sell product...but without paper promotion, you go nowhere!

So let us help you out, there are trees just beggin' to be cut down around the world!

Composite It!

OK,
One of my favorite things to do is turn cruddy Internet photos into something great!
Here is a photo from a book I did for my little girl Noelle.

Here is how this composite played out:

-I took some shots of her in my living room
-Duplicated her layer and did some lighting effects
-Did some glints on the crown and color corrected it to be a bit warmer

The idea was to have her waking up in a castle, So I found a...

-Really elegant/ugly headboard from the net
-Grabbed a blanket from the Internet and cut it out using color range
-Then to finish off the "Castle" look, I grabbed a texture of a stone wall

Once these files were in, I matched levels and color corrected them to flow nicely.
Then with the blur effect I simply gave the shot some depth of field,
As you can see the head bored was duplicated and blurred in the front to give it depth.

After all was said and done, I then blew out some light behind her...then color corrected the whole shot.

My advice is do this for fun, you will soon get good at matching levels, color correcting, depth, and light within photos, finding better images online (that aren't copy-written) and maybe getting some work in the future.

This is fun, but the process of finishing a photo like this uses all the tools you will need day to day as a designer.

Tami Neilson - The Kitchen Table Sessions

Well, Here we are with a second
Tami Neilson album! Crazy and busy, textured and dirty...exactly how I like stuff to look...apparently Tami does too, it must run in our blood!

Concept:
A thought came through my mind (After hearing the title) to have the album cover look like a kitchen counter after makin food... mix in some instruments and stuff and you're good! (Photo 01)

This looked good, but the client thought it needed more impact on the front cover...something to grab your attention. So we blew up the book cover to the full size art and YAY, it looked neato. (Photo 02)

So without wasting the first cover idea, we integrated it into the rest of the artwork...and it seemed to have worked! (Photo 03)

So, there you have it!

The New Branding

The next few years will show marketing, advertising and branding companies frantically searching for styles that are both individual and unorthodox. Generic decorative swirls, vector shapes and company initials will become over saturated while "quirky" will become the norm. This will force other designers to start thinking creative instead of corporate. Something outrageous to capture attention other than boring and what you think you need to do. Meanwhile consumers will gain a better understanding of design and crave more detailed creative designers. This will end up pushing designers to always grow and refine their craft.

So never get comfortable in your design ways. Its important to keep growing and coming up with better and crazier ideas. Even if it feels too crazy...do it!

Crossroads Missions Report

Faduchi Design works with a lot of ministries including Crossroads Missions. Here we have the Missions Annual Report flier. The reason we got this project was the fact that we do strive to keep all of what we do great quality with a factor of cool. Even if it is corporate (like our Morgan's Roofing shirts) we try to break the boundaries of the norm, and come out with something new and fresh. Usually missions reports are strictly emailed, or in a ready made template because lets be honest...sometimes the ministries don't have the money.
But all I have to say about that is....Why should the devil get all the good graphics!

Check it out!

Morgan's Roofing T-Shirts

Justin Morgan of Morgan Corp. In Clinton, Ontario asked me to do some T-shirts for their company called Morgan's Roofing.
I of course said yes and started right away. But half way through I thought "How Boring". Corporate shirts with their little logo on the top left with the website on that back....YUCK!
So seeing Justin was in a band called Lucerin Blue back in the day, I asked him if we could do "Rock Star" styled T- shirts instead of the "Normal" style. He agreed, and this is what we came up with. Something stylish, rememberable...and something a roofer would want to keep clean!
Who'd a thought!

JacobMoon.com

One of our favorite web pieces.

Jacob Moon is a great artist, writes great songs, and is a great client.

It was an absolute pleasure working with him and being able to create his site for him.
In our first meeting we came up with the idea that the Jacob site would project who he really is. A feeling as if you were hanging out with him for the day. Take off your shoes, chill on the porch and relax while Jacob sings sweetly into your ear. You might say "The site really does that?" I have to answer, no.... but close. With free downloads, video and free single of the month, its almost like he's right there. You see, so many times in the industry designers create a website for the fact of creating one. Not to further the artist, not to connect him with his audience...not good at all! Band or artist sites have become something one sided, where you can't connect to the artist and you feel like one of a billion fans unnoticed. We tried to have a welcoming feel to the site, something intriguing so you would come back again and again just to see what's up. Capabilities for the artist to connect with YOU.

I think we got there.
Please take a look, and let us know what you think.

If this is Design, I'm not a designer.

How often do you see the same texture, the same vector, and the same font?( Dare I mention Papyrus?) What is happening here? Designers must think we don't notice these things. This is a true sign of what kind of designer you have on your hands if over used source files are part of the equation. "You get what you pay for" Is such a good statement when you think about it. Have you ever heard this before..."I have a friend that's a designer, he'll do stuff for cheap"? Hmm, Cheap? Meaning what? In this case payment should be a huge issue. If you want something created just for you or for your company, a designer should be taking a piece of them selves and giving it to you. That is when "You get what you pay for" Something made just for you, with resources created from scratch. Why not pay well for something thats truly your own? Over used fonts, reused brushes, vectors and textures, this is for an amateur or a friend of your uncles who knows how to "Design things". This is a warning to all people...Be careful with the cheap designers, because they will cost you more than a professional in the long run. And to all the "Designers" of uncles out there, Please for goodness sake...stop making us look bad...and stop using papyrus!
